I am a freelance writer. I sometimes write about fashion. I had a PR rep with a big-name brand email me and ask me to come take a tour of their local boutique. I'm doing that today. And for some reason I am kind of nervous and dreading it!

I can't possibly imagine what might happen there except for a nice chat and maybe them trying to pitch me stories but I am all up in my head about it. This is why people with anxiety avoid social situations — even hanging out with friends.

In good news though, I tried out a new mascara today and it held up well to the meltdown at least.

I've had a big cry building for several weeks and it finally came out today. Not sure I feel any better tho. I haven't been doing great lately.

@Zoonie Thanks for the advice. She has since moved to another state and I worry about opening a fresh wound, but I was really sad to hear the news. They were great neighbors.

@rebecca I took about a whole day last year to categorize my Facebook friends into different groups with different privacy levels. It has made a HUGE difference in how much I share and consume online. You can make a group just for family and only check those posts instead of your full timeline.

I just found out a former neighbor died of lymphoma somewhat suddenly last summer while I was living in the Netherlands. He was only 46. I feel terrible for his wife and terrible that I only just found out. I kind of want to drop her a condolence email but not sure if that would be appropriate a year+ later.

I hate Thanksgiving. I don’t give a shit about the holiday, but it’s always a painful reminder of when I would still go back home to visit family before I decided to stop being a victim of their abuse. Now I try to plan special trips for myself, which is why husband and I will be going completely off the grid for a rural Texas backpacking trip.

I am looking forward to being incommunicado.

@meredithnudo This all day ever day. I monetized my Medium site and made $7 off an old post I never promoted and I kinda think I could make a lot more money there if I had the time. I feel weird about posting things on t 3rd party site and not my blog, but it seems like a good home for work I can't sell elsewhere. I can send you details on how to do this if you are interested.

About a month ago I got into a pretty heated convo on my FB with an acquaintance who is a Louis CK fan. I posted that in the aftermath of Cosby and Weinstein hopefully CK would be held accountable for the many rumors of his sexual misbehavior.

She REFUSED to believe the rumors because the accusers were anonymous and she loved CK and couldn’t imagine him doing such a thing. Her defense of him got so heated she eventually friended me...
