I just found out a former neighbor died of lymphoma somewhat suddenly last summer while I was living in the Netherlands. He was only 46. I feel terrible for his wife and terrible that I only just found out. I kind of want to drop her a condolence email but not sure if that would be appropriate a year+ later.

@brittanieshey ages after my Dad died, we got an email forwarded to us from someone who had gone to college with him, with reminiscences and condolences. Man, I think about my Dad every day and he died 10 years ago. Any mention of him m from someone else reminds me of the precious time he was occupying space being alive. I promise, she'll appreciate it. Your sensitivity is very thoughtful (that sounded a lot odder than the meaning behind the sentiment!)
