Also Noscript is shipped with a preconfigured whitelist as long as my arm. None of these sites need to be whitelisted. I understand why the authors put them in though, the flood of support questions if they did not would be massive.

Swapped out Yesscript (browser-based Javascript blacklisting) with Noscript (same, but whitelisting). Had to whitelist Octodon to tell you this, because the Octodon client is crap.

Bizarrely, Wordpress has a built-in filter that cannot be disabled and that turns every instance of "Wordpress" into "WordPress" (camelcase).

This breaks for example filenames that have the word "Wordpress" in them. but anything to stroke the ego of Matt Mullensmeg, I guess.

The "award winning journalism" is covered by the free speech exemption. The rest of the "full range of digital offerings" most likely is not. The fact they are willing to shutter the journalism means that that is not their main offering. The LA Times is not a newspaper.

When I google a company and the results page shows an ad to that company's site followed by an 'organic' link to the same site, what I do next, depends... If I like the company, I click the second link, if I hate the company, I click the first.

Here is a pet peeve: sites that let you come up with a username upon registration, but ask for your e-mail address instead next time you log in.

@pzmyers Certainly an interesting look into what people consider the self and what people consider parasites.

@Reinderdijkhuis It will certainly drive hackers nuts. :-) I think the only limit is whether your and your web server's OS will allow you to use question marks and the equals character in your file names. Considering special characters have special meanings, it might be smart to switch to readable URLs. You would have to make redirects for all your links though. You can do this in an .htaccess or in an index.php file.
