Heroes are, more often than not, complete assholes.
I feel like this fact isn't highlighted enough in a lot of fiction.
I think work being *boring* is making me apathetic and lazy and unmotivated to do even the things I like...
Arguing with transphobes reminds me of Wendy Cope's great poem, "He Tells Her":
He tells her that the Earth is flat—
He knows the facts, and that is that.
In altercations fierce and long
She tries her best to prove him wrong.
But he has learned to argue well.
He calls her arguments unsound
And often asks her not to yell.
She cannot win. He stands his ground.
The planet goes on being round.

Anti-intellectualism is one thing, but faith in wrong-headed pseudo-intellectualism is far worse.
It's fun to look at the weather before your cross country road trip and see a big snowstorm on its way. Luckily we're driving south and west so we'll leave it behind quickly but 😖
