Looking for help identifying a flower that came with a wildflower mix. They're very tall, about 6 feet, and bloom quite late in the season, about September/October. The leaves are feathery and very distinctive.

I haven't had any luck looking on plant identification sites, so I thought I'd try crowdsourcing the answer here.

"Measles eliminated in the UK for the first time"

telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/09/2

Elimination of measles or rubella can be verified once a country has sustained "interruption of endemic transmission" for at least 36 months, according to the World Health Organization.

Health officials said rates have now reached the recommended 95 per cent coverage level in five-year-olds.

The European Regional Verification Commission said the UK has now achieved elimination status as of 2016 for measles.

A heart-eyes emoji but with the hearts on the ears for when you hear good music/voices, boost if you agree.

You know how you're writing in a nice notebook and then as you get to the bottom of the page it gets harder because your hand is falling off the bottom of the page, and it gets a bit messier because of that?

Can we as a society stop writing in the bottom, say, 20% of pages in notebooks?

I mean, I guess I could just do that on my own. Declare the lower 20% of pages the Art Space or something?

A friend of mine is quizzing me on issues around trans people in gendered spaces in a spiritual context, which is a very interesting topic, and she's being very cool about it.

She asked me what I think about cycles, and whether they're inherently yin/feminine, and my answer was... complex.

It involved me making this diagram thing, which isn't 100% accurate to my views on gender and the binary, but it's pretty good for a #Gender 101, I feel!

I have handed in my second last assignment. I only have one more left and then I have finished the whole course. I will have a Graduate Diploma of Museum Studies.

Note entirely sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but I'll start with volunteering at the museum one to two days per month and go from there.

Also when I'm back - more gardening, more cooking, more catching up on TV shows, more painting, more reading books, more seeing friends, more of everything.

My studies have eaten so much into my time, and I miss these things so much

Once I come back from holidays I am considering starting a rewatch of Babylon 5, because that show is so good, even if the special effects and costumes are dated

hello!
19 days until I land in Berlin, so I'm pretty excited right now

getting real sick of western video games portraying war as a fun and trivial adventure with bad guys and good guys

I've had a look at Mastodon on and want to know what your best recommendations are. Too much choice and not enough information for me to make a decision.

So I'm on a trip, and I have started the habit of throwing tiny coins into rivers/streams/fountains (so long as there are no beggars around to give money to instead). And then I got an idea. It would be cool if you could stamp/mint custom coins/tokens with positive messages, like "end transphobia", which you would throw into the river, to banish these bad things. 🙂

Hello! I'd like to follow more #asexual people! If you would be up for boosting this, so I can be found by as many people as possible, that'd be super neat! Also please reply to this post if you're ace-spec and up for new followers! Thank you and have a nice day!

And then I was chatting with someone on the birb site and they gave me the best compliment I've received in ages and ages... it almost made me cry.

How to report that fake Mastodon Twitter account:

1) Go to twitter.com/MastodonTM

2) Do the things in the attached screenshots below: Menu > Report MastodonTM > They're being abusive or harmful > Pretending to be me or someone else > Someone else.

3) If you want to follow the real one, go to twitter.com/MastodonProject.

Someone brought to my attention that there is a Twitter account impersonating the Mastodon project. This is a fake account: twitter.com/MastodonTM

- We don't do the business of selling blue or green checkmarks
- We don't have "office hours"
- We don't collect donations on behalf of disasters (unless you consider me a disaster)
- I would know how to spell Houston for god's sake

I know most folks don't have money to give away right now, but my friend Cheryl has decided to donate her kidney to someone in need. (It's for a friend of a friend, Kristina, but if Cheryl's not a match, she's going to give her kidney to someone else, which will move Kristina to the top of the list.) This will require her to be out of work for weeks, so HER friend Liz started a Gofundme for expenses. Please give a little if you can. gofundme.com/help-cheryl-donat
