So what do you do when your partner's parents disown them because of who they love?
Who makes the first move to reconcile? (I just want to yell at them, so I'm not the right person)
Said parents in this case are quite happy to accept children born out of wedlock of their grandchildren (they're conservative Catholics) but not at all accepting of same-sex relationships and nonmonogamy.
As it is a day ending in Y, this is your friendly reminder that "gay" is not an umbrella term for the LGBTIQ+ communinties.
We're not all gay. We're bisexual, pansexual, queer, asexual, lesbian, and some (this may even surprise you) are straight (I'm referring to trans people FYI).
So if you find the acronym LGBTIQ+ too difficult, then you can use QUILTBAG (queer, undecided, intersex, lesbian, trans, bisexual, asexual, gay) or "queer" as umbrella terms.

Partly solved the problem by getting someone else to do the thing that was making me somewhat anxious. One less thing makes the load much lighter.
Feeling like I'm burning out in relation to bisexual activism. I need to think of strategies to prevent that beyond taking a break from it.

Please do this UK Government survey that was launched today. It's part the upcoming reform of the Gender Recognition Act.

Now, you have to be diagnosed, live in role, & go before a panel of cis judges who decide whether you're trans enough to fix your birth certificate.
They'll likely remove that requirement, & also introduce legal nonbinary gender recognition.

I hate being told that suicide is the most selfish thing you can do. You don't understand what it feels like, as a person struggling with those thoughts that can't get out of your head. Calling it selfish takes away from the fact that they were suffering more than you can possibly imagine and the only way they could find peace was to end it. What is selfish is demanding that a person who is suffering from day to day to keep on going, even though its beyond pain, even though its pure torture, just because you don't want to be without them.

That said, I met MANY amazing people and leart a lot. Next time I need to give myself more space to process and more self care
Spent two days a a conference last week where there was regular erasure of the bisexual community and a conflation of woman = trans and gender diverse people (which isn't necessarily true)
Plus the actual overwhelming content of some of the talks I attended, and the mental health first aid I provided to a friend, meant the whole thing was a lot of work.
FYI - it was an LBQ Women's conference, which is a little confining in title anyway.
