@dmoonfire world building or storytelling? Most good stories have interesting worlds, but they usually evolved as the story progress. I am fighting that that trap trying to run D&D. I have a story to tell but the details of the world are also compelling to me, but not so much to the players.

Day 2 of new job and I think I learned as much as the first year of my old job. This might be fun.

@dmoonfire walking is not as much exercise, but there are some games that you can play to make fun. Steve and Laura are playing Ingress and Pokemon, so they get a few hours walking each day while they play and have lost about 30 LBS each over the last 2 years.

ah yes, statues ARE history! this is why all history classes consist entirely of visiting parks to look at statues. if there is no statue of something, we never learn about it

Last day at work, then taking a few weeks off before starting the next job. I hope this new one will give me a sense of accomplishment and learning like other jobs did. This last one was just a grind with empty promise of opportunity.

The cat got sick in 3 or 4 different locations while I was on the tolit, but the dogs came along and cleaned it up. And I'm happy with this, because I will put them into their cages and then goto bed so I don't even have to smell their breath. 😁 I should not own animals.

Well, this article hits something near to my heart. Voting machines should be open-sourced and auditable.

mobile.nytimes.com/2017/08/03/

Bruce Schneier had a good idea related to this, treat voting machines like slot machines. Verifiable EPROMS, someone will show up in 20 min.

@dmoonfire call it a prequel, set it aside and work on the next story, Revisit later and see if it can be saved?

@dmoonfire have you tried to game the Amazon system by arranging for as many people as possible to buy the new book on the same day? This can get it into the trending recommendation list that more people see and leads to more people at least looking at it. Brian Brushwood did this for his book about social engineering.

I applied for a job and did one interview, then they asked for references. Sent them over after giving them a heads-up, but the hiring manager says all the phone numbers and emails don't work. 2 of the 3 respond with phone numbers that match my records, so seems like I'm not getting it due to incompetence of the hiring manager. Might be best that I don't work there.

@schlink just a Trump tweet storm using all processing power.

I'm still hungry. Saw some cooking shows before dinner and I'm craving meat. MEAT! I want aged stake with a rich sauce and covered in bacon.

Took a walk this morning and found a nice park and took some nice photos, but app keeps saying media upload failed. I'm on WiFi, so that's not it, just means you can't see the awesome live oak covered in moss.

Gah. Its been hours since the doc said Dad could leave the hospital, but the computer has not been updated so he can't fill out the paperwork to leave. 😤

@BryanLunduke it has to be asked, are you using a rolling distro? 😎

@dmoonfire that sucks to hear. I hope he does recover. My dad is finally better and should be able to leave the hospital soon.

Mmm, lobster taco. 🌮
