Welp, Mastonauts. I figured the thing out. On the one hand: I am a not-smart man who can confuse two numbers for DAYS on end causing himself much grief and woe. On the other hand, I don't have to quit being a programmer to live in the woods and raise goats. So... :nodbad:

So sad to see that we only start getting users from all over the world and here go people starting to complain : 'oh no, I don't want to see those mean symbols because I don't speak foreignese'.
Here's a crazy idea : stay on your local timeline or go learn some foreign languages. Maybe the Fediverse timeline itself isn't so useful because we can only understand a small part of it but that's the pulse of our Fediverse. We dig what we dig.
Then again, everyone's choice and all but it's real shame to see people actually waisting time to think about the best way to block foreign contents. You wanna code ? Code something useful.

I have been at the "Do I even know how computers are intended to work" stage of debugging for about 4 business days, so far.

The new emoji picker search box is awesome, but:
• I want the mouse to auto-focus in it when I click.
• I want it to collect some most-used emoji at the top (local storage is fine).
• I want it to pop-up in context when I type something like :tong and suggest 😝, 😛, 😜, and 👅 or whatever.
This morning not going awesome on all the little things:
• Opened the packet of the tea bag before I put anything else in the cup.
• Dropped the sugar pack right on in the cup.
• Poured about 2x as much cream as I like.
• Regular vocabulary lookup failures.
Maybe I should take me down for maintenance. 😝
