If there were a Great [fill in the name of your country that isn't Britain] Bake Off, what would be essential to bake? What would be the baking challenge?
@ink_slinger butter tarts are sooooooo good! Now I have to seek out (or bake) a Nanaimo bar (never had one before)
@baniak Naniamo bars are very Canadian. I'm not sure if they're really made anywhere else.

@baniak I think the Canadian version would be interesting. I don't think we really have a national baked good but we have tonnes of local/regional ones.
Just based on raw popularity probably tourtierre and red velvet cake. But personally I think anyone who can't make butter tarts should be escorted to the border in handcuffs.
