To this day, we struggle with troubles in the mental health care sphere. People can’t be completely open with their care providers due to institutionalised mechanisms such as involuntary hospitalisation.

I speak from experience on this myself.

This needs to change.

So... I've been insanely depressed and have been struggling mightily lately. At this point, I feel like I can finally come forward with these feelings here...

Life has been really stressful lately...and the memories of my horrid ex continue to haunt me, even as I type my three-part set of blog posts about the time I spent with her and the aftermath of it all...

--Leilani: My middle name, which references my Hawaiian half. It can translate two different ways: "Heavenly Flower" or "Heavenly Child."
