@dzuk Of course there's no philosophical substance, because the people brandishing it about aren't interested in any sort of philosophical argument. All they are interested in is shoving their hatred and bigotry down everyone else's throats and attempting to use what they believe to be a "free pass" in the process.

Rationality is dead. The age of rhetoric, platitudes and hypocritical passion is in.

@ayachan IMO, I don't really think so because I don't think our political reality was never really that rational to begin with. Humans always have some rationality and some emotion (if you wanna frame it in that way), and that's okay, but it takes a certain kind of faculty to comb through the two to think clearly about something, and it's not something society teaches so a lot of people lack it, and it's routinely exploited, only now it's being exploited in new ways.

The main base of this kind of rhetoric IMO are people who were raised in an environment that never really questioned them or exposed them to differing political opinions or differing political realities, and so they led themselves to believe that they are free of political bias, and now with that false impression are ironically waging a political war.

@dzuk We live in a day and age where inflammatory and hateful rhetoric are becoming more and more common. It's disgusting. And you are absolutely right when you allude to the fact that they all come from a place of privilege.
