I'm really happy to announce that the company I work for has just publicly opened a #Mastodon instance for all its 5000 employees.
This is the result of an initiative @moritzheiber and I have started a year ago and have pushed through with the help of many other colleagues.

To finish up, here's how to uncheck everything in one go, using a desktop browser (Firefox/Chrome).
While on the page with the 322 checkboxes, open up your web console (Chrome: https://developers.google.com/web/tools/chrome-devtools/console/#open_as_panel, Firefox: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Web_Console/Opening_the_Web_Console)
and copy-paste this :
document.querySelectorAll('input[type=checkbox]').forEach((input) => input.checked = false)
Then press enter.
All checks should be checked out.

Tumblr tried to sneak in data collection under the radar. After a few taps, you can get a list of who they're sharing data with.
The list takes 19 screenshots to see all the names on my phone.

This project would not be possible without the pioneering work of evanp and @cwebber along with @Gargron and @mmn and many others!

We had a storm come in this afternoon.
Most importantly, stop putting institutional events on Facebook, stop using it at universities, stop making participation in Facebook mandatory through your institutional, organization, and activist roles. You can be online, and social, and connected without supporting Facebook.
Please don't hesitate to come to me with bug reports or questions. I can open github issues on your behalf (if it's not already known) and I can usually point to the right resource.
ugh i really hope crossposters don't slowly choke mastodon like they did to diaspora*
if you're just crossposting everything you tweet on birdsite then what even is the point of making a mastodon account? that's glorified spam at worst, and a recipe for abandonment.
