@HerraBRE imho one way is signal boosting members of those minorities who are in tech, so that members of minorities who *aren't* in tech but are maybe curious/interested get to see that yeah, it's a interesting and potential field for people like them. And I mean signal boosting people when they're talking *tech* just as much as when they're talking about the issues they're facing: representation matters, especially for young people. They see that they can have a voice.
we should stop saying you have to be good at math to program. yeah you use math but i say "good at" to talk about skills where ive achieved greater than average mastery or its a hobby, like im good at drawing or something. i avoided programming as a kid because i was a B student in math and considered "good at math" to mean gifted. how many potentially talented women programmers do we lose when they are ten years old because of this?

Omg tech bros. When we're talking about making tech more accessible to others, we're not asking you to coddle us by trying to "encourage" us to keep learning software. We're addressing systemic issues about communications and access, not looking for personal validation.
So yesterday I was drinking with a few dads, discussing that eventual day, when you have to have "the talk" with your kids, about browsers and history.

The maintainer of PhantomJS is stepping down as Chrome has announced a headless mode in v59. Slightly sad about that. PhantomJS is pretty awesome for automated testing stuff.
I guess that doesn't necessarily mean the end for Phantom, but still, thanks to everyone who's been involved.
