We're all set up for STEM Day! I love events like this: not only because it's fun to surprise people who don't think of archives with STEM topics. octodon.social/media/Yl03220C5

Prepping a quick photo exhibit about the 1964 Alaska earthquake and structural engineering for tomorrow's STEM day open house. Archives aren't just for historians! octodon.social/media/22MDNiRcn

I always think swans are graceful. Then I see one flying in for a landing. octodon.social/media/GY8Fu3vSQ

I just bought five flights on the AKAir pfd sale for between January and April. I think I may have gone overboard on the ooh I can get out of AK for less than $400/I need to see my friends/terror of a long winter coming. Alaskan economy you're not allowed to crash completely for at least another year, okay?

One of the perils of road trips with friends with incompatible musical tastes is that if you go into a store that has Dylan playing, you're stuck with that ******** voice in your head till you can boot your friend out and get something decent queued up on the car stereo.

Sadly the Blues Brothers didn't break through it but the Chemical Brothers finally did.

Not sure what decade I'm in, but it's a gorgeous day in Seward anyhow. octodon.social/media/19QeAz0de

A stop at Potter Marsh to look at the migrating swans and ducks. Artificial wetlands FTW! octodon.social/media/xJ6sEZ4fe

A couple of quick stops en route to Seward. The second is to pick up a friend but I'm early for that so I grabbed some takeout breakfast and caffeine and stopped at Lake Spenard to nosh first. Getting lighter! And yes those are floatplanes in the forefront. octodon.social/media/CivBxmi7-

Just tanked up the car, time to head out to Seward for what is supposed to be a sunny day in south central Alaska. Not sunny quite yet though. octodon.social/media/okQNaxyk_

It's 5:30 on a Friday, I still have some work to do, and I had to be at a 7 am work meeting this morning. And I almost got a speeding ticket on the way there. Thanks Mr. Police Officer for the very kind warning that I needed to slow it down a bit (you were absolutely right. I did).

Hoping to head home soon, and I'll be sure not to speed on the way there.
