def more adult than YA, and more science than fantasy-oriented, but nature spirits and Norse gods are involved, too :)
@KARiley40 very cool! pretty sure he is going to fit in soon - I'm somewhere in the middle of the book, but not exactly sure
@KARiley40 exactly! with non-fiction I had an outline that I worked from, but when I write fiction the characters develop the plot along the way, and some stuff I think came out of nowhere actually becomes important.
@ariadne Tell me about it! Here's this tiny piece of info that's interesting, and 20 pages later, OMG, it's become some crazy part of the plot you couldn't do without.
@KARiley40 my experience exactly. It is kind of true what they say about the characters/book writing itself. It's not like "hearing voices" (well, not usually, anyway ;) but it is eerie sometimes how things pop in
@ariadne Yep! If you need anything, glance over chapters or talking through plots, poke me. I'm normally around somewhere and do like reading other people's stuff.
@KARiley40 likewise, thank you so much! what timezone are you in?
@ariadne Central. You?
@KARiley40 BST (British Summer Time) so Central Time + 6 hours
@KARiley40 in other words, it is almost tea/dinner time here :)
@ariadne Okay, this sounds like a lot of fun. Loki is one of my favorite Gods.
