@RexfordGTugwell Warby Parker sells monocles. I've considered getting one fitted with a relatively high-powered reading lens, it might be handy for when I need a close-up view at my workbench but a jeweler's loupe is overkill.

@RexfordGTugwell I'm not into this antique eyewear because I'm grooving on steampunk esoterica, it's because I have practical uses for them.

I've had cheap plastic Chinese pince-nez reading glasses for a couple months now and they're surprisingly handy, especially when I need reading glasses and sunglasses simultaneously. A pair that's more comfortable and looks nicer could be an improvement. Or maybe not, if these prove to be too bulky or fragile for daily out-and-about use.

@ardgedee Ah, okay. I would think they'd be less comfortable/stable than regular glasses, but no?

@RexfordGTugwell They're definitely less comfortable and stable since yeah, they're literally pinching your nose. But they're also easier and quicker to put on and take off than regular glasses, and that's an advantage too.

There are other styles of monocle which are supposed to be stable and good for all-day wear when fitted properly, but it's not a rabbit hole I feel like falling into right now.
