1/2 TIL: "Windows Media Digital Rights Management (WMDRM) will no longer be supported after Windows 10 Anniversary Update (Windows 10, version 1607) is installed. After installing this update, you will no longer be able to play music or video files that were protected by this rights management technology."
To their credit, Microsoft is providing mechanisms to strip the DRM. But it's going to be quite a gotcha to people who don't read the fine print on their involuntary software updates.
