Watching CDParanoia rip a CD track at 0.1% playback speed is fun like watching a frozen lava lamp, but at least has the benefit of dramatic tension: Will luck allow the hardware to pull enough data this time for checksums to fill the gaps?

Nope! This is the hill Track 19 wishes to die on.

Do I double down on trying to get a quality rip of 3 minutes 52 seconds of music? It'll take close to three hours. Heck, might as well. I've got other things to do anyway.

@haineux After three hours the scan was wedged at the 78% mark and had nominally a half-hour yet to run. So I cut it off.

I have decent stuff for fixing surface flaws on disks, so this is just gonna' be added to that workpile to deal with later. Although since there are only two or three discrete tracks with problems, my better bet is that the aluminum coat has a pinhole, and I can't really do much about that.

@haineux "Tracks" in this case being the concentric data rings, not the songs.
