@twistedonion For me the problem with cold brew is mostly the lack of bitterness. I need my morning harsh.
@ardgedee bought it on a whim, not a fan of cold drinks but I half expected a nice filter coffee taste, but cold. This just tasted muddy... like instant coffee cooled down. Not pleasant in any way.
@twistedonion Most cold brew coffees I've had deemphasize the flavors that come from roasting, so they have more of a sweet or fruity taste. I tend not to like them much (other than as ingredients for mixed drinks, alcoholic or otherwise) because there's no bitterness to balance the fruitiness, but I can appreciate that people who're more sensitive than I am to bitterness would prefer cold brew to hot brewing methods.
Can't say anything about the item you tried. Maybe it's off?
@ardgedee yeah quite possibly. There wasn't a hint of fruit or sweetness. I was just expecting a bit of a refreshing alternative. Think I'll wait and try another one at my local coffee house.
