I'm not a neophyte Windows user (20+ years), but it's amazing how much less computing friction I have since I ditched it.
@arcvancouver Fewer/no spurrious pop-up dialogs, few performance-sapping background processes, actual system-wide package/update manager. I switched last summer and haven't missed it at all.
