Almost every time I see a story like this I feel like there was probably exactly the same story in ancient Mesopotamia except with every instance of "blockchain" replaced by "writing".

@andrewt What a silly article.
At no time does it explain why a blockchain would be superior to a traditional, centralized database. (After all, tickets, by definition, are issued by a central authority.)
Better headline : "Two British Graduates introduce new buzzwords into existing technology"
@apLundell I mean I've never seen a blockchain article that does explain that. Even currency works perfectly well with traditional, centralised databases — that's literally what a bank is. If you don't explain why a public ledger is better…
Like, who is mining this blockchain? Why would I unless I was planning to steal tickets, and what's to stop me if the blockchain will only ever have to hold a few thousand transactions?
And are we even ALLOWED to make that data public under GDPR?
