does everyone on Mastodon know Japanese and french? I don't understand how tooters aren't bothered by seeing a timeline full of stuff they don't understand.

@angryjello I'm French, I am pretty good at English and know a bit of Japanese so it's A-ok for me
@angryjello no other human languages for me except the odd word, but i also follow a bunch of nerds elsewhere and some of that stuff is beyond me even though it is notionally in english
@angryjello I can read both english and french. Not japaanese but it look beautiful and make my feed pretty. All is fine and i have a translator 😊
@angryjello The whole thing is a global network, so why wouldn't there be people tooting in a wide array of languages?
