Just spent the last hour running in circles trying to figure out why a seemingly random assortment of users in the office couldn't see a seemingly random assortment of internal servers.
My gut said, "hey, it's like anyone with an even IP address can't see dmz hosts with odd IP's."
Turned out to be one of the links on of one of the vmware hosts that was acting up. So what amounts to a black holed %2 balancing hash meant...

so. i was thinking. (always dangerous) since this federation of microblogging thing is rolling out like a bunch of virtual communities, each with their own distinct flavor, there's a LOT of similarity with virtual worlds. especially with everyone putting together their instance's (aka community) terms of service.
luckily, raph has a sweet "declaration of the rights of avatars" he wrote up a decade or two ago.
