@alicet When I left Facebook a few years ago, some of my friends asked me why, then didn't listen or care, and simply told me, "You'll be back." They didn't think I was serious until I have them my stern voice, No I'm not coming back. Unfortunately, they were right, but I came back because it's part of my job now :/ not because I wanted to.

@alicet I deleted Facebook before #deleteFacebook was a thing, and when people gave me shit about it I told them straight up that Facebook wasn't paying any of us to put up with its bullshit, but that they could do as they pleased. In the meantime, I was sick of seeing them post in their feeds the sort of inane shit they used to forward to me by email, but they were welcome to email me if they had anything useful to say.

@alicet My dad and grandma don't understand. I haven't deleted completely, but I'm checking it very infrequently and only from a device that doesn't have anything personal on it.
My grandma's suggestion was to just patent every single one of my photos.
Uhhhhhh....

@alicet I deactivated FB and hardly anyone noticed, the only people who did felt a slight frustration that they couldn't invite me to their events and my gran had no way of keep up with what I was up to. I don't understand why people would get annoyed at the personal choice to #deletefacebook
