I have a scar on my left arm from when I was attacked with a broken bottle from a bigot who didn't like my political views in a bar one night.

I see people talking about not condoning violence against racists, and to be honest, I think it's very easy to say that when you aren't the target of their hate. They do not want to talk or negotiate. They went us dead.

I'm not a violent person by nature, but I will fuck up a racist and sleep well.

I'm all for talking and being patient with people to find common ground. I honestly believe cooperation is the most futuristic thing humans can do with each other.

But neo-nazis, racists, white supremacists, Trump voters, etc, don't want to talk. They don't want to be reasonable. They want people not like the to die.

To suggest that violence should not be used to defend ourselves is a very privileged and ignorant position.

I'm not going to negotiate with people who believe in an ideology that results in suffering and death of my and my loved ones.

I'm not going to stick a hand out to people that are trying to kill me.

If they come at me with evil intent, I'm going to put them in the ground.

I have a right to defend my space. Usually it's with words, but I will take it there if I have to as well.

I am not going to be civil with people who want me dead

if you've had the luxury of not being attacked by a bigot because you do not share their views, then you do not have the proper perspective to suggest when violence is appropriate agains them.

If you have had the luxury of police not harassing, assaulting and/or murdering you and people who look like you, you for real need to keep your mouth shut.

Do not tell the targets of hate how to response appropriately to it. You sound like an ass.

The more you do something your brain will switch into that mode and generate ideas more easily.

If I wrote stories more, my brain would make stories.

As it is, my brain generates my thoughts in social media sized chunks. 😥

I've realised that some non-English-English speakers may be confused by the British reaction to Mark Zuckerberg sending other people in his place after his invitation to speak to the UK Parliament

While "you are invited to Parliament to speak on this subject" may be interpreted as "we'd like you come and talk if it's not too much bother" to some foreign ears, the phrase actually means "COME HERE RIGHT THIS SECOND YOU LITTLE SHIT AND EXPLAIN YOURSELF"
