Holy moly I have a working thing! Styling is waaay far from done, but WE HAVE FUNCTIONALITY! A database of people, lots of attributes, gallery for each, responsive grid showing everyone. Getting the hang of this!
I've taken over as the tech lead for our historic resource database/GIS app here. Working with a developer who invites me to watch over her shoulder and ask Qs about how things work is so, so wonderful.
What are you reading? My available time is very limited and I have 1.5 eps of Dark left on Netflix, but I'm about to start PKD/Valis:

@Marshdrifter mapshaper processes everything client side. pretty sure geojson.io does too unless you save.
@Marshdrifter Not to share maps, no. But for general editing purposes I'm not concerned with the above services (usually my shapes don't even have metadata).

I haven't reinstalled ArcMap since the last time my laptop crashed in November, instead using only open, web-based tools. So far, doing juuuust fine.
This terrifyingly not inaccurate statement pretty much sums up today: "Hey Jolene, you're the closest thing there is around here to an IT person, so..."
Goals for 2018: launch cemetery project 1.0, finish archaeology collections db rebuild, become a SQL wizard, make ground on digi media storage/access, share skills. Ready!
Power's out, it's right chilly, and I haven't had enough coffee. Our house is all electric. Anyone have recs (for a future purchase) for a battery powered gadget that heats water?
