I sincerely hope this new batch of artists actually stays. I keep getting hopeful whenever some of my favorite artists join only to notice months later that they went back to birdsite.
I think the reason this place works for me is because I came here to start over, not to continue. Everyone else feels the pressure of their fanbase pulling them back to the places they tried to leave, especially when they rely on commissions for a living. Looming rent payments make for quite the anchor.
@Aicaya For me it's kinda weird since I don't usually post much anyway, but also basically none of the people that I follow and generally use birdsite for are on here, so I don't tend to stick around too often
@Aicaya Just such a pain to break past that point in moving to different services, even if the other services are better, since it still takes effort compared with just staying xD
@adept7777 Yeah, that's also a common reason. It's a rare occasion when a company screws the pooch so hard that people *and* their socials both move somewhere else and successfully stay there.
I think the last time I saw it happen was when a lot of Skype users ditched it for Discord, and even then people still use Skype a lot. :V
