Can we just talk about how extreme chanlike behaviour can literally turn around the brain of people? I saw someone, in my own family, turn into a proto-troll caveman who loves politically incorrect joke for the fact that they are politically incorrect and edgy, who will make racist/islamophobic/homophobic/xenophobic comments out loud and say "It's just a joke", and spend hours browsing 4chan's /pol*, 8chan, etc. How am I supposed to go along with that? How is it not concerning?
Chanlike behaviour, part deux Show more
You cannot tell me that there is no link between exposure to some of the Chan content and the development of the behaviour of having fun by skirting the limits of politically acceptable just for the sake of "triggering the snowflakes" and show who is stronger. I'd even dare call that a form of bullying. As much as I support free speech rights, it can't protect someone if they're straight up harassing a group. (Reminds me of that XKCD comic : https://xkcd.com/1357/ )
