Just finished. I really thought Malcolm would die at the end. Glad he didn't, I loved how solid, think but practical he was. Alice was amazing. The story was so intense, he's a damn fine writer.
I particularly like the joke about the canoe name being painted over by a naughty friend. Anyway, glad I waited and glad it was worth the wait.
