So, on the one hand separate instances and federation will mean the trolls, Nazis and misogynists will be stuck in their own little boxes. But so will we.
@backhand Concerns of over focusing into our own little silos are legit. But I like to think that there is a chance that with most instances federating ny default, there will still be plenty of room for cross pollination of ideas and people. In that scenario, unfederating is more like a blacklist, blocking groups becomes the exception and not the rule. Arguably better than fb/twitters algorithm tweaking your feed for you to cater to your biases.
