@lindseyb wonder if he's rethinking his no safe spaces stance?
good. I think it's just ducky when evil people are afraid of the rest of us

@way who cares? Twitter has been leaking cash since day one

@Finnarchist it's sickening. and imagine somebody in 2017 pretending there are no LGBTQ+ people in their country...it's repellent and silly all in one package.

@Pako I'm specifically talking about this tweet. I have no idea of the technical side of the implementation. from the tweet it seems like they don't want to put in the time in case mastadon goes poof.

@Pako yes. the lame reason why they don't is something like "it's growing so fast what if it changes dramatically" which holds little water because crypto is crypto.

@EleventhOcean Industries rich in lobbyists make their own rules. the last big giant that had controls placed on it was big dairy. apparently it used to be common for milk to change prices multiple times a day (sound familiar fossil fuel industry?) until outraged housewives made it stop. Apparently it's hard to run a household budget when one of your major Staples can triple in price over night.

keybase please add proofchecking for Mastodon.

@EleventhOcean imagine that behavior in any other industry....

Watch an airline physically assault a passenger and drag him off after he'd already boarded.

Because they overbooked the flight.

They apologized, but only for overbooking the flight, not slamming this man's face into a metal armrest & literally dragging him half-concious off a plane.

Can we fucking ban overbooking flights already?

I can't sleep so here's some validation:

Your problems are "enough". You don't have to earn anyone's approval to feel bad about something going on in your life. We all have problems, and yes some problems are bigger than others, but they are still just as important and vital and painful to us when we're experiencing them.

Take the time you need to experience your pain. Name it, process it, and then take care of yourself. Give yourself permission to treat yourself with love. You deserve it.

Is The Doctors the worst show on television? At least other vapid daytime talk programs don't try to add a veneer of authority to their statements. The View never claims to represent the medical establishment

@emdeesee or the root of evil (a.k.a. the event horizon toot)
tutemet ex infernis

@Finnarchist get ye' to a library!
seriously though it's creepily prescient.
(except for the holographic idol singer)
the trilogy consists of:
virtual light
Idoru
all tomorrow's parties

Bruce Sterling is good and if you can lay your hands on it John Shirley's "eclipse" trilogy is great...
I guess I'm old school cyber punk....can you recommend any newer stuff

looks like a road trip soon?

BTW backasswards Massachusetts.... you are doing it wrong AGAIN.

@Finnarchist Is it just me or does the whole concept of the "gig economy" seem like it was ripped right from the pages of Gibson's "bridge trilogy"
