I am explaining to a friend of mine about the couple of years my mother spent stalking Clay Aiken. Like, serious stalking. Go hide in the hotel floor he was staying on, traveling to North Carolina to meet his family and former teachers, skulking about the exits where he performed.
@Frankenbeans I had a sister in law that did the same type of thing with Ricky Martin. it only stopped when she got a lifetime ban from his shows and a really nasty C&D order.
@Frankenbeans I actually met clay once really briefly at the "big e" (basically the Massachusetts state fair) he seemed like a genuinely nice guy
@Zaphodbblx He seems like he probably is. This is one reason why I have a lot of sympathy for women over online harassment, and for celebs who value their privacy.
@Zaphodbblx My mother flew to Raleigh to look up Clay Aiken's fifth-grade teacher. When I told her she shouldn't do that, she tried telling me about people who did really obnoxious things, like hide behind luggage carts on the floor he was staying in. And there was no reasoning with her, either. She'd just get mad.
