Facebook took the whole data privacy issue so seriously that they fired Alex Stamos (their CISO) for pushing for tighter data controls and a proper response against Russian interference.
They also disbanded the security team, reassigning individual security professionals to various other groups within Facebook.
Wow.

Just installed my replacement car stereo. Buttons on the front work now. Had a scare when there was no sound for a bit. Seems to be good now.
Android Auto still doing a weird thing though. Phone will show charging, then not charging, and repeat that for 30 seconds to a minute. Sometimes removing and reinserting the cable works, but not other times. I might try it without the intermediate cable and plug my phone's cable directly in.

Ad-blocking didn't cause pop-ups and interstitials. Those things predated ad-blockers, and were caused by the abysmally low response rates (click-through) of online ads.
Ad-blocking didn't cause the ads that expand to cover the content of a page or the dashed green underlines within a page's text that pop up small ads when you mouseover them. They are merely a continuation of the trend that started with pop-ups.
Ad-blocking didn't cause tracking. Tracking was caused by the idea that "making ads relevant" would improve click-through rates. It happened independently of ad-blocking.
Now, ad-blocking supposedly caused the rise of surreptitious #JavaScript cryptocoin miners? Does that also explain the existenence of mobile (and desktop) software that contains hidden cryptocurrency miners? Because the two are likely closely related.
@KARiley40 Someone in my party in a game we were playing was killed by wisps, as well. They almost killed the rest of us. We barely managed to escape.
