#Cooperatives; London taxis Show more

Haven't been able to post anything for the last few days. The #earthquake in #MexicoCity didn't affect my home or workplace, but it did disrupt my daily life. I've been trying to help as much as I can.

Almost all the help has been in charge of average citizens. They've been doing a better work than the army so far. Also people are protesting against the government using heavy equipment to remove debris from collapsed buildings. Everyone is hopeful that there's still life.

The history and evolution of the #commons
by Michel Bauwens, P2P Foundation

"the commons has been defined as a shared resource, which is co-owned and/or co-governed by its users and/or stakeholder communities, according to its rules and norms. It’s a combination of a ‘thing’, an activity, commoning as the maintenance and co-production of that resource, and a mode of governance."

"You mess up, and start all over again, like the goldarn hero that you are. You fall down a thousand times, get up two thousand. You are courageous, inspirational, and stronger than even you believe."

@taiz I find that I may still want to play a game but the fact that once I purchase it I am gated off from the code strikes me as deeply unfair and somewhat troubling which is why I do not feel much remorse in copying data that is intentionally obstructive from the end user. That said sometimes it's just a tad more convenient to shell out some money for particular games and I'll do that as well.

So I've decided to dump Namecheap as my domain registrar. Technical problems aside (of which there have been a few), the final line they crossed was loading scripts from Facebook, DoubleClick, and Google on their home page.

My domain registrar should share _absolutely nothing_ with Facebook. Namecheap is no longer to be trusted as they don't seem to understand basic expectations of privacy.

@Starling Sorry to hear about the bad night, here's to a hopefully great day!

What's the point of the character limits on many of these social media sites? I'm glad Mastadon has a much higher limit but it still striked me as... well... limitng.

The more I work, the less I think jobs need to exist. This *gestures wildly* is just mindless busywork, a self perpetuating machine of human misery, and is in no way necessary in the allocation of scarce resources to those who need them.

yo peoples. I'm a blind 16-year-old boy with a lot to say. I'm intelligent, curious, technically skilled, a musician who writes and listens to a specific nonstandard genre, nonreligious, advocating for all personal freedoms, and someone who enjoys talking to people, no matter who you are. I am profane, but I don't say nor get sex jokes and other such things. People find me very interesting. I'm sure you will too!
