I want everyone to have food, access to health care, and feel safe.
For many of us, that requires spending every waking hour trying to scrape together a living.
I accept help early and often. I can't help others if I can't take care of myself. It's not my fault I'm sick, and I deserve to get better.
There are no days off. No vacations. No light days. If I take a break from working, it's because I'm in the hospital.
You deserve to survive. You deserve to thrive. Do what you need to do.
Capitalism is bad.
Most people need money to stay alive.
Both of these things can be true.
"We should all wither and die instead of staying alive to fight" is not a great strategy if you want to do anything with your life.
*Sigh* Okay, so, lemme put something blunt out there. It's gonna piss some folks off, but honestly, I'm beyond giving a fuck.
Folks make things. Folks making things need money to continue making things. And it's been my experience that people *complaining* about methods of supporting people making things (Be that streams or otherwise) don't *use* those support methods.
Streams. Art. Reviews. Writing. All are *work* . Yes, at least some get "branding." But that's not a simple thing.
Worth noting: when someone asks you to use pronouns they're not asking you to never make a mistake in your life.
They're asking you to just try, and to be aware that some people deliberately ignore or violate this request strictly to protest that and be overtly threatening.
This is 10x true when you know someone on both sides of a pronoun transition. Everyone knows that mistaken "he's" or "she's" can slip out.
Just try. We won't make it weird if you don't make it weird.
There are folks afraid to put up their Patreons, or even start one, despite that being a method of being supported, because of this attitude, and the entitlement that surrounds it (YOU DIDN'T GIVE ME ENOUGH FOR MY DONATION!)
And I don't blame them, because there's that extra stress as *well* as knowing that the person *giving* you grief would, even without that grief, be unlikely to help. To those people, I extend an extra stretched middle digit, because they make shit that's already hard WORSE
