If you or someone you love lives in the US and needs help accessing government services, I just found the BEST WEBSITE
https://howtogeton.wordpress.com/
This site talks about how to get disability, food assistance, medical care, affordable housing, all sorts of programs you may or may not have heard of, and how to apply, and how to appeal, and how to everything! It's great!

well shit. another of my editors (that's FOUR now) have had to step down.
i love them all, i really do, but now instead of gaining the FIVE we need from the applications we've received, we're actually only up ONE.
if any women-identified folks would like experience being an editor for a fucking awesome lit mag, fill out the application!
CWs are super great to encourage political action because:
- you can mention where it's happening, so you don't have to read it if you can't do anything about it, (or forward it on in case others might be able to act on it)
- you can say 'hey, here's something that you can do about it' and people can think 'oh wow, that's great, I'll take a look at this when I'm up for it'
(ie. giving context and action statements prevents apathy and makes political action messages focused instead of chaotic)

« Your quarterly reminder that unless you are a Ferengi from Star Trek, the word "female(s)" is an adjective, not a noun.
"Women" is the noun you're looking to use not "females". An adjective is used next to a noun. Ex: I am a female designer. I am a woman. We are not "females". https://t.co/Vrdk5QpoLAΒ Β»

@Jo Yeah, just hit up aliexpress and it looks like high power transducers start at about $100. And the last time I looked at plastic welding kits they were in the several-hundred-dollar range. Since I was making a pool floaty I passed.
60 watt cleaner trandsucers were 12 bucks. I just have no idea if putting a tip on one of those would have enough oomph to handle light sheet plastics. Would be pretty cool if you could slap together a sub 50 buck station and make stuff out of milk jugs.
@Jo Just dug one of the cheap sheet plastic ones out. Can't speak to the material, but the flaps are spot welded. Probably an ultrasonic weld, didn't see anything that screamed rotation at me.
