I'm late to the #introductions, but here it goes. I'm 30, she/her, from #Germany. I work as a environmental scientist at a university, pursuing a PhD degree. I need some #python #programming skills to do that.
I'm fairly into #crafts, especially #fiberarts like #knitting and #sewing.
I enjoy #boardgames a lot, I also started playing #shadowrun about a year ago.
#games like #citiesskylines or #civilization5 have quite a few hours on my steam account.
Plus: Trying to improve my #french ;)
Took a close up picture of my current #knitting project with "the good camera" and I love it ;) this is Skala by Melanie Berg in Drops Fabel - so cozy! #mastoarts #fiberarts
When you pin out your #knitting until you have only 3 pins left... Muscle soreness from blocking is totally a thing right? Because I have been lying on the ground, adjusting needles for half an hour now, ouch. This is the Stole of the Seas by Melanie Berg, it is for my mother in law's birthday and I'm really proud because I already finished knitting in February, booyah! #mastoarts #fiberarts
@windmills today the usual, a bit of musso and I watched two sewing videos in french #200daysoffrench
I kind of thought implementing this change to my code would be quick, but because I wrote it in a hurry it is massively unflexible and there are so many small things I need to change :( Gotta learn to do better right from the start...
12 years ago, added a memorial building especifically for the Senegalese Tirailleurs and muslim soldiers. Just 12 years, even though the war ended 100 years ago.
One thing about #WWI that I didn't really know about was how many soldiers from west africa, especially senegal fought for the french. They had very little rights and priviliges compared to french soldiers. For example they weren't allowed to send letters home because the french couldn't make sure that the lettres didn't contain confidential information https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senegalese_Tirailleurs
Very interesting thread on #birdsite about the "zone rouge" in #France, leftover from #WWI.
I went to the museum in #Verdun two years ago and it was the best museum I have ever been to. Also, the surroundings were just surreal, all those huge creaters and trenches still visible.

When someone asks you for a favour and you have already done it πͺ
My boss needs to have that same conversation with that persons boss and he told me today "haven't talked to him yet... I'm waiting to get into the right mood" :D I feel you!
@windmills Vocabulary, Duolingo and clozemaster today and listened to an episode of français authentique #200daysoffrench
On slightly related news, I made another reading pillow for a friend. It's best used with a ebook reader I think, but a friend of mine also uses hers with physical #books and likes it a lot. Makes for hand free reading and is pretty comfortable for longer #reading sessions. Mine is the more colorful one and I am still loving the fabric ;) #sewing #fiberarts #mastoart #diy
There are a lot of characters in books or tv shows that romanticize books, I can never quite relate :(
I love to read and reading is important to me, but I never felt "romantically" about #books themselves. I'm no Rory Gilmore. I won't spent hours in a library or a bookstore, I am not delighted by the smell of printed books , for me it was always the reading - not the books. So yeah, I'm an ebooks kind of girl, especially since I am hopping between two homes every week.

Also I know that the person recieving this e-mail probably didn't make the call to go ahead anyway and he is a very nice guy and ugh... *sadface*
I finally managed to send this work e-mail I was so reluctant to send (Basically: I know you worked hard for 2 month on this but it's not helpful and we discussed before why it wouldn't be and it's no suprise that it isn't) Sometimes it takes time to find the right tone, but the right tone can be very important especially if you potentially have to work together again.
My brother finished his Dissertation with a beautiful ackknowledgement section and he specifically thanked me for helping him out with some programming questions! I wish my grandmothers could read this who always said stuff like "At least you have a brother to help you out with all that hard math stuff"...
