Time to watch 759384 videos about stranded #knitting because there has to be a better way than the way I'm currently doing it. 
@Julia What are you doing right now? My one handed version wasn't really great (the outcome was okay but it took long, no rhythm, had to constantly readjust), I taught myself how to knit with the yarn in the right hand and now doing stranded two handed. I don't throw though, what I picked up is called "flicking"
@Julia the damn potholder!! :) I can't seem to find the video that was most useful to me back then... it was an older woman with a badly lit camera set up, but somehow it was the necessary piece for my puzzle... :D I can recommend practicing the throwing first on it's own and not trying both hands right away!
