I also like bicycling, rye whiskey, my spouse, and my dog.

❝Mexico in the 16th century—to speak of only one of its poetries, the Aztec—had eleven subgenres of lyric poetry that remain known to us: eagle songs, ocelot songs, spring songs, flower songs, war songs, divine songs, songs of orphanhood (also known as “philosophical reflections”), tickling songs, and songs of pleasure.❞ — Eliot Weinberger

I’m here for the tickling songs.

Why am I getting so much spam about 𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒄??

Valuable post about what happens when an artist's image going viral. It's by @lubellwoo (Lucy Bellwood) and covers both the intangible benefits, and the dollar earnings- with REAL NUMBERS. Read and learn!

To save time (and stay sane) pick 1 or 2 panels per page to be "throw-away" panels. The dialogue remains, but the art is a head in silhouette, or the character's coffee cup, or a tree outside the window. They should be panels where the context is already clear from one or more of the surrounding panels. This can save you an hour or more a day. It adds up.

The script may describe a detailed shot for every panel, but the script doesn't have the right to rob you of sleep and family. Be judicious.

There are some seriously rotund squirrels out there this month.

Politifact should have a rating that's the opposite of PANTS ON FIRE. I propose they call it WOW SO TRUE.

Thank you, internet, for coming through with the heirloom pig breed/heavy metal crossover art we all needed. octodon.social/media/ASUwtcwSF

REMEMBER, YOU ARE MIGHTY. YOU ARE SURVIVING.

BUT ALSO REMEMBER, SOME PEOPLE MAY BE HAVING A HARDER TIME THAN YOU. MAYBE HAVE A THINNER SKIN. MAYBE OTHER PROBLEMS.

BE SURE TO TAKE THE TIME TO HELP, OR AT LEAST MAKE THEM LESS UNCOMFORTABLE.

I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT, YOU'RE ALL GOOD PEOPLE.

I love that they included the time of day at which this syrup will cease to be delicious in two years.

I'm not certain why every week the one-foot yoga poses seem to kick my ass so much harder than the rest of the class. It may have to do with the fact that I'm probably the heaviest person in the room by 40 lbs or so.

@VinnieTesla I know. I sometimes feel like I'm animated by rage & despair lately, but that's America for you.

I'm an admirer of @pzmyers, so when I saw he was an Octadonian, I was about to follow him.

When I looked at his feed, though, a majority of the toots were about terrible people acting horrid. That is valuable work, and someone needs to do it. But I am trying to get away from the constant jangle of alarm that characterizes my Birdsite experience. So no pharyngulation for me for now.

Wait...so a "locked" toot goes to everyone who follows YOU...and there's no version of the more conventional privacy model where a list of accounts YOU chose sees the post?
