FYI: there's a new research study going on about COVID vaccines and menstruation! The lead researcher is Dr. Kate Clancy, who studies stress and menstrual cycles at the University of Illinois.
If you got a vaccine and have ever had a period, you can do the survey. Any nationality.
Magic: The Gathering newbie help
There are some kids at school that A) are pretty good kids (objectively better than the kids my oldest hangs out with there by default) and B) play a lot of Magic: The Gathering.
My oldest *does* want to hang out with them more but he doesn't know how to play MTG nor does he have any cards.
He has a decent collection of Pokemon cards and plays that very well.
Where do I start?
Curios to know if anyone has tried to hack those #eink screens used as product label in supermarkets?
Rhizome Preservation is doing a live Q&A session on May 17, see https://rhizome.org/events/from-black-boxes-to-open-systems-ask-rhizome-a-digital-preservation-qa/ The format is like a call in radio show.
Any issues that you'd like to discuss can be submitted on this notepad: https://notepad.rhizome.org/BBOSIV?both — or brought up on the air.
The event will not be recorded so nobody has to pretend to know it all 😉
indigenous people hunting seal or boar are not the problem and you know that. harness all your inner karen energy and take it to the agricultural and livestock industries. take it to nestle who steals water reserves from indigenous land to bottle up and sell them.
when you berate indigenous people who eat meat for survival, because they live in fucking Nunavut where a head of lettuce costs $20 or because our ancestral lands once used for agriculture were destroyed either by colonizers or by climate change, all you're saying is you'd rather we all die. HARD pass
Does anyone know of a way forward with Twitter v2 API when your small, academic archive doesn't qualify for the Academic Research track? The problem we have is that we don't have a research question to pursue, we are just archiving tweets about our college, for the benefit of future researchers. This approach doesn't seem to fit with Twitter's "tracks".
Any thoughts are appreciated.
