Taco’s weight has gone down a bit more, but it might be because the inflammation has significantly decreased. She seems otherwise to be improving so I just keep bringing her lots of little meals all the time, and I now have an appetite stimulant I can give her if needed. I am yet again very glad to work from home. ❤️

@Angle A lot of advice floating around for oily skin in particular involves using toners or other astringent type things, and maybe that's good for some people, but for me it definitely makes me break out.
@Angle my skin is pretty sensitive and kind of freaks out in response to most things, but I use fragrance-free, water-based aveeno moisturizer. I use the stuff marketed as body (as opposed to face specific) moisturizer all over, including my face, right after I shower. I have oily skin and using a bit of moisturizer after a hot shower stops my face from going into overdrive to replace the oil that was washed away. And then I rinse with cold water now and then if my skin is extra oily that day.
@Angle I've been experimenting with changing my pillow case every night or two and changing the cloth I use to dry my face a similar frequency. I think it actually helps? It's so hard to be sure because it's not a very scientific process, but my skin does seem to be better at the same time as I'm doing it.
@Angle you're lovely. ^.^

Taco is having a super playful energetic day, which is so entirely wonderful to see.
She has her 3 week follow up appointment with the oncologist tomorrow, which is pretty significant. When she was diagnosed they weren’t sure she’d even make it a week. Needless to say, I’m super grateful for each extra day with her.

@boyce I mapped the wiimote data to parameters for granular synthesis once. It was a proof of concept for a neural net (of course!) based mapping thing. I would not say my results were spectacular, but the idea was for people to use it to map other devices. Which did happen a bit.
So episode 115 of the You Are Not So Smart podcast, "Machine Bias," has some really smart people and me talking about what it says on the label:

That was at Agora de la Danse. Afterwards, my friend and I went for a very late dinner and the restaurant we wandered over to not only stayed open just for us, but they gave us free drinks and had a round of sake with us just before we left. Even though we’d ordered a pretty inexpensive meal. I have no idea why that happened, but I’ll take it.

This is church is just across from l'Hôtel de Ville on the east side of it. There has been an elm tree planted outside the church since the middle ages, and balconies on the streets past it have an elm pattern that references it.
