Settle this debate for me: one space or two after a period?
I'm a one-spacer but my husband is a vehement two-spacer. CAN THIS MARRIAGE BE SAVED
@alyx yep it seems almost everybody prefers one. Except old people.
@Talyaa alyx is right, it was because of typewriters. if you use a courier font then I would encourage two spaces, but for anything more modern stick with one.

@Talyaa I'm a firm believer in one-spacing. Two spaces look kinda weird.

@Talyaa Two spaces. But I'm an old fart, raised on typewriters and two color ribbons.
@MightyBigCar me too with the typewriters, but then i had to conform to a style guide for a writing job I had and I never looked back.

two is archaic, had to to with typewriter concerns iirc? if you google it you'll find heavy support for one.
