Forget #Bitcoin, Litecoin, Etherium etc... We should switch our currency to potatoes
Benefits:
- Works in any century as a medium of exchange
- Delicious and healthy
- Inherently shows proof of work
- Best of all, hacker proof (unless you own a knife)
@cypnk you say it works in any century but for most of human history people who didn't live in very specific regions would be confused as to why you were offering them a weird hard lump of ground. Also square foot potato growers like myself might hyper inflate the economy

Luckily, humans will quickly find the lump edible, once cooked (we tend to bite into most things). That covers the past, and well, most of us today are already acquainted with potatoes so that also covers the future
I'm not too worried about hyper inflation as much because, like Bitcoin, only those who invest the energy will yield results. Unlike Bitcoin, you just need physical effort and the weather to comply

They leave too many voids in a container so volume is out. And they've got a lot of water so weight is tricky too. Maybe some combination of both?
And like banks these days always use machines to make sure notes are counted accurately. Maybe in the future, we'll carry around starch, nutrient, and moisture measuring devices powered by the same potatoes they measure
