Guys, I went back to the birdcage a few weeks ago, and my productivity at work plummeted. These two things probably aren't THAT related, but I think it's time to get off of it again. It's good when political moments like the healthcare vote happen, because it moves fast enough I don't feel alone, but otherwise, it's kind of a useless distraction that I constantly check to avoid the parts of my job I don't want to get to right this second.

Alright, since my day got started so late because of the assholes in Congress, time to go make a lunch and ease into the second half of my day.

Whoooo, who else stayed up until 2:00 AM watching C-SPAN? Who else remembers when the only thing you stayed up until 2:00 AM watching was mainlining a recently released Netflix series and making the poor decision to watch "just one more episode" 5 times?

I'm reading this article on Asian-Americans dying at a higher rate from ecstasy toxicity at festivals, and apparently there are Canadian pills that have been cut with fentanyl? JFC, I am glad that in my rave days they just cut the pills with cheap speed or sold MDA instead of MDMA. We should have fought harder before and we should have fought in different, wider, bigger arenas than just the military and bathrooms. It's well overdue that cisqueer America earned using that letter we throw around when we talk about LGBT rights.

So, last night I woke up to my dog repeatedly making the gagging noise she makes when she's throwing up. Our whole room smelled like dog food and something bitter and sour. Bile. The only thing is, our dog has resource aggression and food insecurity (and is gross) and eats her own vomit immediately after throwing it up, so by the time I turned on the lights, I couldn't see anything. Now our whole bedroom smells TERRIBLE, but I don't know if she really threw up.

Prepare for first world problem complaints:

The UPS delivery people in NYC absolutely HATE trying to do their job (and, as a result, I hate using UPS). While FedEx and UPS will do everything they can to get into your building to drop a package off at your door or near the mailbox and will put notices inside, UPS just puts their notice on the front of the building door like they just rolled by and flung the damn thing at the door.

My favorite thing about the Apple "mighty" mouse is how it's ergonomically designed to absolutely ensure that you will get carpal tunnel syndrome.

It's so hot out that I am sitting on the couch literally fantasizing about this ceviche I make, but also not wanting to spend the 4 hours waiting for it to marinate. (I know, my life is ridiculously easy that this is a complaint I have.)
