I tend to draw to de-stress. Been that way for most of my life. Anyway, the World Cup is on right now and England just played so might as well draw English soccer royalty. I.e David Beckham. Yes, I used a reference.

As you all might've remembered, I really found "The Men with the Pink Triangle" a super-important book and was enriched greatly by reading it. So much so that I thought I might like it in my personal library.

Except it's out of print and going for $60-$80 some places.

This is why my local #library and the system we have in Michigan is so important. I can get any book from any library in the state, including that one. Please support your local library. ❤

Criticism is welcome, but remember to give constructive criticism, which includes consideration of how your criticism will affect the other person emotionally. The golden rule applies: how would you feel if you read the message was directed at you? It's hard for someone to constructively make use of criticism if receiving it is an emotional drain.

I'm also in a WWII course for the summer while I write my thesis that focuses a lot on genocide studies so yeah, fun reading times.

I've been playing The Last Guardian on my PS4, largely because I'm almost at the end of KHII on my PS3 and got sick of being killed by Roxas...so yeah, I'll get back to playing eventually.
But seriously, The Last Guardian is amazing. The graphics, the fact it's entirely story and discovery based. I didn't play the game when it first came out because i kept meaning to buy it and then got busy, but I'm glad I did.

Advantages of seminar courses: in-person idea bouncing.

Disadvantages: I should probably say something except I’m a huge introvert and know I won’t. At least the professor gives the option of some participation credit via a typed document outline of the readings that I didn’t speak in.

Haven’t been drawing as much on my iPad lately. But I have a small bit of time to kill. So, yeah.

So, I started reading the Wheel of Times series when I was 20/22...was at 5 when Robert Jordan died then basically stopped reading it for years because I wanted to wait until Sanderson finished it. Started reading it again in 2013/2014 and fourteen books later. I’m finally finishing it. Now that my final essays for spring semester are done... I’m leisure reading.

So for music to type my last minute essays I’ve been pretty much listening to old boy band NSYNC and backstreet boys music for like a week straight to keep myself awake and my head is currently filled with Boer war factoids, NSYNC lyrics and WWI history stuff... uh, yeah. XD

And I’m finished for the semester. I’m taking a course on WWII holocaust remember a ce during the summer and have to turn in my masters thesis at the end of summer but my summer is now freeeeeee!

I would like spring and summer if there weren’t so many damn bugs. At least during fall and winter it’s too cold for all the myriad of insect life seeking to suck my blood is out.

One last physical class of the semester left. Unfortunately, it’s also my graduate seminar and I’m horrible at public speaking.
I get super nervous right before presentations, psych myself up for them and just ramble through them mostly.

Did I mention how much I love The Strand. Yes, it might be overrated to say that in New York City but seriously I could live in The Strand Bookstore and I’d be ecstastic

Also, I cleaned my room because I needed to and the mess was stressing me out. Anyway, since I’ve run out of room for books on my 2 bookshelves I just have the rest in stacks under my room a/c unit on my bedroom floor. Oh, and I’ll probably accumulate more books since I keep checking out more from my university library. 65 books and counting so far. XD

I’m so used to writing in third person for research papers that I’m having to actively force myself to not write parts of my master’s thesis as some omnipresent narrator.

More pictures of books I’m . In this case, it’s a book on Irish nationalist women’s movements during the early 20th century in Ireland. Reading for a book review due Tuesday for my seminar Irish history course. There’s a picture of the other reader I was reading over the weekend too since they’re both for the same course.

because, might as well... re-edited. I’m a graduate student in a second masters in European Studies that is currently living in New York City. I My areas of focus are mainly in 19th century and early 20th century British/European history. Additionally, outside of my history nerdiness, I also like drawing, anime, video games and both American and Japanese comic books. Besides English, I also speak/read mandarin and can read some French as well.
