My first micro SF story was just published by Story Seed Vault! storyseedvault.com/

Here it is:

"The Freezers hacked the soletas, positioned them over the Indian Ocean. The thermohaline circulation shut down. By the time they caught them it was too late. The ice age had begun."

Afternoon all. Bit of a grey day today, but at least it's not raining/snowing now!

Oddly enough, it was the Delete Farcebook thing that reminded me of here. I remembered that I'd be better off deleting it as I didn't use it (and can't remember why I joined up in the first place).

Mastodon is miles better.๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜

It's been that busy lately that I've not even had the time or inclination to read much. I'm hoping I can get back to that soon, too - feels weird without a book on hand.๐Ÿ“š

Well, it's been *really* busy, but I'm back. Sorry to be away for so long!๐Ÿค— ๐ŸŒผ

Suffice it to say, real life has been exceptionally hectic since I last logged in, and more often than not I've not had the energy to do much at all. Still, it's a bit better now and I can try and get back into the swing of things here.

Now I just have to face my Notifications column and get caught up!

I think I'm going to take a bit of an online break for the weekend (yep, I'm on a bit early today). I'm going to have a bit of me time.

Well, I'm going to try to, at least.

See you next week.๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

In spite of everything, my is going well. I finished the nearly 1000 page The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss earlier today, and it was excellent. I'm willing to wait for the next one, though. After waiting several years at times for in the Wheel of Time saga, this shouldn't be nearly as bad.

Next up is The Earthsea Quartet by Ursula K LeGuin. I know it's a reread, but it's been years since I last picked it up.

Ah, Saturday. I didn't get the lie-in I wanted, but aside from a minor incident this morning, all is well.๐ŸŒผ

Finally. The weekend.

Please, let me get a lie-in and a bit of a break from stressful situations. Pretty please?๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

I'm really enjoying The Wise Man's Fear. To the point that I'm actually reading a lot slower than usual.

my is off to a slow start, but I don't regret it in the least.๐Ÿ“š ๐Ÿ™‚

Right, off I go. I'll try and get caught up more later.

Take care, everyone.๐Ÿค—

Friday already, and I'm grateful. It seems like things got back to normal fairly fast.

Morning all.๐ŸŒผ

In dealing with those who are undergoing great suffering, if you feel burnout setting in, if you feel demoralized and exhausted, it is best, for the sake of everyone, to withdraw and restore yourself. The point is to have a long-term perspective. ~ Dalai Lama

Thank goodness the wind has calmed here.๐Ÿƒ

My sister's coming over this evening for a visit, and I wish I had a bit more energy to deal with things.

I might need more caffeine to get through this. It's just a shame I'm trying to cut down on the stuff.๐Ÿ™ƒ

Halfway through the day, and I'm exhausted. Looks like I'm not the only one, though.

Storm Eleanor is still blowing a gale, and I didn't get much sleep because of it. I hate these kind of windstorms.

My kingdom for a full night of peaceful sleep!

Looks like we've got another storm coming. Hope everyone stays safe in Storm Eleanor.

Honestly, I think I preferred it before we decided to name our storms over here.๐Ÿค”
