@craigmaloney Or Poison's Look What The Cat Dragged In. :-P

@DaveHiggins I made the cutoff for the top 33%. Yay! I expect an email invitation to join the Loyola Maritime Journal and then some schedule juggling for the fall semester.

How did the story turn out?

@DaveHiggins Rankings matter with regards to law school journals. At my school, Loyola Uni New Orleans, the top 33% are invited to join the Maritime Journal, the top 20% are invited to Public Interest, and the top 10% get Law Review invitations. I know I didn't make the top 10, and Public Interest hasn't published the past couple of years.

Your story sounds as though it could challenge the creator as well!

@DaveHiggins It has. I've been sleeping. I may have watched some ridiculously fluffy television. I can no longer be leisurely and lazy. I feel the need for activity.

Grades posted last night. I did better than I thought, but I will have to wait another week for the rankings. I'm hoping for an offer to join the Maritime Journal.

How have you been?

This made me giggle too much.

I completed my first year of law school. I'm still in shock.

@DaveHiggins I have considered. Also, from speaking with my classmates, we were all blindsided. The curve should work in our favour this time.

@DaveHiggins Heh. Change that to cursing colorfully and you would be closer to reality. If only there were a question about perfect title!

@DaveHiggins But those pronunciations are in a Southern Belle drawl 😉

@DaveHiggins You should have heard my thoughts during it!

@DaveHiggins It was awful, that Property exam. Fecking brutal.

Possession. Acquisitive prescription. Good faith! Just title! Petitory & revendicatory actions. Usufruct! Prudent administrator. Predial servitudes. Let's go to !

@DaveHiggins My professors have very different exam expectations. Torts prof wants the meat - his exams have word limits for each answer. Property prof wants a four-course meal - you cannot write too much. Obligations prof wants a well-balanced meal - cover everything, but skip the fluff.

I struggled with that last semester. Hopefully I get it right this round.

@DaveHiggins I'm hoping I didn't bomb the Torts exam. I didn't have a good feeling about it when I walked out. It's too late to worry about it now.

Onward to Property and Obligations!

@DaveHiggins I love Postmodern Jukebox. Thanks for sharing this one!

@starbreaker Good wishes and thoughts! Let us know how it goes.

Down with Torts!
One exam down, two to go.

My study group went to see my Torts II prof last night for final questions before the exam. He's the hardest to please in the classroom. He admitted that our class was one of his "better" classes.

I hugged him before I left. He said, "Don't lose that fire! When the hard days come, keep that fire!"

Encouragement and affirmation are wonderful things.

1st exam tomorrow night. Torts II - negligent infliction of emotional distress, survival & wrongful death actions, pure economic loss, defamation.

I'm so tired.
