I dislike PCMR and anyone defending the PC as a superior videogame platform and as the "better way to play". It is purely class contempt. Let people enjoy their VG experience the way they fucking want it. It's just fucking video games and people still find ways to shame each other about it.
@Siphonay Seems to me anyone rational will just enjoy a good game regardless of the platform it runs on. Sure, a high-end PC might be able handle rendering tasks a home console would never dream of, but if you throw that power at a poorly designed game, it's still going to be (possibly nicely rendered) crap.
@Siphonay My only argument for PC over console is with FPS games. As an early PC adopter, I can not stand playing shooters on console, especially in a multiplayer setting where timing is everything. Shrug. I haven't played online games in many years though. My last favorite was Quake 2 WOD all railz with Tarzan hook ;)
@Siphonay It's a bit more complicated than "class contempt". First of all a cheap gaming PC can be made for the price of a console. Second, the problem isn't people using consoles... Who cares? The issue is when games have a reduced level of quality because of a need to cater to the console audience.
Many PC gamers are still pretty pissed about things like the awful Skyrim interface, as they should.
Most devs/editors now think "consolers first". The "PC Master race" joke is merely a reaction
