Trump got elected because we liberals thought the world was some sort of moralistic fish bowl, where horrible people were somehow not going to vote for trump because of his racism, his xenophobia, his blatant appeals to nationalism, populism, and fascism.
Stop discounting those people.
Stop thinking that somehow the Democratic Party is some morally superior group.
Start actually working to make your party better, and start taking the other side of the aisle fucking seriously.
Or lose more
Listen up.
If you think that Al Franken's behavior being outed means that his career in politics is over, that he has no shot of being involved in government, that he's suddenly going to remove himself from congress, or that the Democrats are going to want him to do so out of some "Morally superior position" as opposed to the GOP?
YOU
ARE
A
FUCKING
MORON
And that ideology right the fuck there is what helped get Trump elected.
I started a business with my friends.
Let me tell you, right now there are times right now, that the level of petty that can happen is enough to make violence seem like a legitimate solution.
A candidate for Governor in my state just shared a Breitbart article on their page.
Literal. FUCKING. NAZIS are being called good people by the President,
Peacefully protesting citizens are Sons of Bitches by the same guy.
A candidate for Governor is sharing propoganda level "journalism" from Breitbart.
And we're all just here saying: "MURICA, FUCK YEAH!" right?
@Mr_Ed When you advocate for social change, but try really hard to make sure that your argument is presented factually, people get angry when you tell them to stop taking you out of context.
I have openly said that I would endure restrictions, paperwork, harder background checks, licensing, registration of weapons, etc... if it meant that we were reducing the 92 a day who die at the barrel end of a firearm.
They took that to mean I'd give up my guns. I never said that.
I'm unfamiliar with them.
I generally try and stay away from the "Mom (insert cause here)" groups. Past interactions have left me with the sense that most take a scorched earth approach.
They're one of the reasons I've gone to lengths to reduce my "real" digital footprint.
I was Doxxed for pointing out that a Mom group was quoting something I was affiliated with out of context.
And thats when they drug my kids into it.
@Mr_Ed While that's cool that people are talking about this place: HOLY SHIT, that woman got screwed over by Twitter.

@Skywise I just found out that I may be a grandfather. My (what I thought was little) number just got REALLY big.
So, my son and his Lady are going to the doc to determine if they are going to be adding to their family.
I'm equal parts Freaked the fuck out and Happy for him.
Grandpa means you're old, right? I'm not old. Am I?!
Update on my coworker from yesterday:
Scene: Bumpin' some System of a Down today, she walks in w/ nasty look
Her: I Can't believe you listen to them
Me: Why?
Her: They're so "in your face about their beliefs"
Me: So.... No Rage Against the Machine then eh?
Her: Why? I love Rage!
Me: Really?
Her: Yes, why?
Me: I mean, that's a really odd distinction to make. SoaD is In your face, but Rage isn't?
Her: What are you talking about? Rage is awesome, and they care!
Me: Stunned Silence
You're right. They don't have to use YouTube. Much in the same way that a startup doesn't need to get their products on Amazon. But, you work hard to get your product in front of the largest audience possible, to try and make your product as successful as possible.
I never said that you should only rely on YouTube.
Again, You have misunderstood the "Free" portion of this equation. It's Free, because you aren't the customer. You are the product.
YouTube is Free for the very same reason that Facebook is Free.
You aren't the customer. You are the product being sold. The problem comes in when YouTube (Google) determines that they are going to change the rules for someone based on unclear, and arbitrary decisions, and there is little way to appeal the decision to demonetize content. Generally, they make you jump through "View " Hurdles.
Long response:
Not everyone qualifies for monetization from YouTube. There are qualifications to be met. If you enter into an agreement (you have to) to start monetization, and then for an arbitrary reason, YouTube changes the rules, without notice, then YouTube is in the wrong.
They have clear standards that you have to meet and agree to. So long as you have met those, and you have a monetization agreement, you absolutely have the right to expect to make money from that video.
@starbreaker Good Question. I'm going to bet that she has never listened to it because: Queensryche, and she strikes me as the kind of person that has MAYBE heard of Silent Lucidity.
@stigatle If you are working to create a media brand, and Youtube decides for arbitrary reasons that your video is not monetizable, that's a problem. I'm not talking about an issue with a video that violates standards here.
Why do you think that their content should be given away for free?
Do you believe that they shouldn't have a right to be compensated in a legitimately fair fashion for creating content?
You don't have to watch the content. They get paid based on views and clicks.
I've heard her blast:
Slipknot
Deftones
Metallica
Gemini Syndrome
All that Remains
in the past few days. She hasn't boycotted music, but she is currently boycotting the NFL.
I'm curious about Rage, because it's right up her alley, but the politics of it would leave me wondering.
She is a full on brainwashed #trumpet
It would not surprise me if she isn't here today, because she's out celebrating Trump's latest non accomplishment.
I'm really bummed that my coworker isn't in the office today. She's a fellow metal head, but a SUPER CONSERVATIVE TRUMP LOVER.
I woke in a mood to listen to Rage Against the Machine.
I was really hoping to hear what the reaction would be.
Generally, she's a fucking moron, and has no idea what she's talking about. I was hoping to hear how much she loved them.
