Should I hold more of a loathing for Dragonball Evolution or for the Netflix Death Note movie? Tough decisions these days.

Pączki is the greatest treat I have ever experienced.

It's June 3rd and 39 degrees Fahrenheit out in Nova Scotia tonight. No, the daytime was barely any better. Kill me.

Junji Ito. God help me this man knows how to frighten.

I may need to shower after reading Greased in particular. Forever.

When a robot gets hit by a self-driving car, is that considered manslaughter? Or vehicular boticide?

One thing that blows my mind is how tabletop RPGs appeared roughly at the same time as computers and modern video games but it's pure coincidence

Why didn't tabletop RPGs appear sooner? All you need, in theory, is a randomizer and some paper and writing utensils.

I have to say, going from Lovecraft's stories right to Robert E. Howard's Conan The Barbarian is pretty entertaining. One of the first Conan stories involves an eldritch abomination thing driving some evil dude mad, which then tries to do the same to Conan. Conan responds by stabbing it in the face. Why would I expect anything less?

@Shalazah Yeah, Lovecraft created a fascinating mythology with his Cthulhu cult, but its built upon a very ugly racist/bigoted foundation.

It's difficult to reconcile my love of that universe with the man and his odious political/social views.

I just finished reading Medusa's Coil by HP Lovecraft and Zealia Bishop, and it may just be the worst thing I've ever read. To the protagonist, the most terrifying thing isn't the fact that there's a medusa, or that her hair is alive, that her portraits come alive and bare their fangs at you, or that her corpse ran out on fire to grab some racist plantation owner, or even that said plantation burned down years ago. No, it's that she's from Africa (to put it non-offensively). How terrible.

That feeling when you want to but then have to actually use it for work-related activities.
